Art retreat - Patterns of the land 2
The fig & the olive
Welcome to our next art retreat!
This autumn, we'll be heading back to the House of Andalus, nestled in the mountains of the Andalusian countryside in southern Spain, for our second art retreat.
We continue the patterns of the land series, this time focussing on the fig and the olive, both of which grow naturally in the region, and hold deep symbolism across different cultures and traditions.
We will be looking at our relationship to the land and its gifts, Islamic art and what it means, geometric and biomorphic patterns, and experimenting with drawing, printing, and painting whilst immersing ourselves in the beautiful surroundings of ancient olive groves.
The rich cultural heritage of Andalusia will be your background while you are gently nourished with organically grown food and reflective conversations as we wind down the day in the gentleness of the evenings.
